Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Oil for frying
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp harissa paste
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the falafel mixture by combining chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is coarse and holds together.
- Add the flour to the mixture and pulse a few more times until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Mix the tahini, harissa paste, lemon juice, water, and salt in a small bowl to make the dressing. Adjust seasoning to taste.
