Instructions
- Prepare the peppers by washing them thoroughly and patting them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Add the Padron peppers to the skillet in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook the peppers for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are blistered and slightly charred on all sides.
- Remove the peppers from the skillet and transfer them to a serving plate.
- Sprinkle the peppers generously with coarse sea salt.
- Serve immediately while they are hot and enjoy!
Additional Notes
For a variation, try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the peppers before serving for a zesty twist. If Padron peppers are unavailable, shishito peppers can be used as a substitute.
