  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter or ghee for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing the whole wheat flour, salt, and water in a bowl. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix the mashed potatoes with cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, coriander leaves, and salt. Ensure the mixture is well combined.
  3. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Flatten each dough ball slightly and place a spoonful of the potato mixture in the center. Gather the edges to seal the filling inside.
  5. Roll the stuffed dough gently into a flat circle, about 6-7 inches in diameter, using a rolling pin.
  6. Heat a skillet or tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the skillet.
  7. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, applying butter or ghee, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  9. Serve hot with yogurt, pickles, or butter.

Additional Notes

For a variation, add finely chopped onions or green chilies to the potato filling for extra flavor. You can also use leftover mashed potatoes for this recipe.
