Ingredients
- 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the tofu by cutting it into 1-inch cubes. Toss the cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Stir-fry the red bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for 5 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha in a small bowl. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and stir well to coat.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and toss everything together until heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Additional Notes
For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also add other vegetables like snap peas or mushrooms for variety. Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of sriracha.
