Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh coriander leaves, tightly packed
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 green chilies, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water (or as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coriander and mint leaves by washing them thoroughly under running water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. Combine the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, ginger, lemon juice, cumin seeds, and salt in a blender or food processor.
  3. Add water gradually and blend the mixture until you achieve a smooth consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times.
  4. Taste the chutney and adjust the salt or lemon juice as needed.
  5. Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl or airtight container. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.

Additional Notes

For a milder chutney, reduce the number of green chilies. You can also add a tablespoon of yogurt for a creamier texture. This chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
