Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh coriander leaves, tightly packed
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons water (or as needed)
Instructions
- Prepare the coriander and mint leaves by washing them thoroughly under running water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- Combine the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, ginger, lemon juice, cumin seeds, and salt in a blender or food processor.
- Add water gradually and blend the mixture until you achieve a smooth consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times.
- Taste the chutney and adjust the salt or lemon juice as needed.
- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl or airtight container. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.
Additional Notes
For a milder chutney, reduce the number of green chilies. You can also add a tablespoon of yogurt for a creamier texture. This chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
